Hot House!

Global warming is a very serious problem in the world today and has slowly been increasing its severity for the past century. Global warming refers to the increase in the average temperature of the Earth?s air and oceans. There are many causes and effects of global warming, some more severe than others. Some causes of global warming include: energy use and production, chlorofluorocarbons, agricultural practices, changes in land use, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, deforestation, carbon in atmosphere and oceans, permafrost, the tundra, and climate change. Effects consist of rising sea levels from increasing global temperatures, the increase in the intensity of extreme weather events, the change in amount and pattern of precipitation, and changes in agricultural yields, glacier retreat, and species extinctions. Although the many effects and outcomes of global warming concern most people, the causes and reasons for global warming is what people should be focusing on in the world.

Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is collected from power plants, emitted from cars, secreted from airplanes, and also released from buildings. Roughly forty percent of the United States? carbon dioxide emissions come from coal and the burning of fossil fuels. Nearly twenty percent comes from the burning of gasoline in cars and trucks.

Global warming cannot really be prevented or stopped now because it?s almost too late, but it can be slowed down. If the world population cared enough about the future, we might be able to do something about global warming. There are not enough people in the world worrying about global warming today. It is a big problem and people need to recognize it.

I think it is a huge problem too. It definitely worries me sometimes but i agree if people start to help out and realize what could happen it could be slowed
down

I've watched the movie by Al Gore where hes explaining about global warming and he has tons of examples to prove that its happening. everyone figures the next ice age or the next big natural occurance wont happen while they are here so they just dont worry about it. at the same time, people dont really know what to think since over time it keeps going back and forth between being an issue and not being an issue at all. I agree with you and i also believe that global warming is happening, however getting everyone else to think so is going to take a lot of convincing.

Global warming can be drastically slowed down when we minimize the percentage of harmful impurities we put into the atmosphere. Infact a conference was held in 1999"the Kyoto conference" where almost all the first-world countries except the USA acknowledged their willingness to minimize harmful chemicals we put into the atmosphere even when there were so much pressure from the media, the USA didn't succumb until recently.
Some countries have refused to acknowledge the Kyoto conference especially countries in Africa, giving reasons of extreme poverty.
The water level is rising due to the melting of the Polar region and there's a tendency that important places that aren't landlocked will be covered with water should the whole polar region melt i.e. places like New York, London, Lagos etc
A world without important financial places like this will certainly bring in extreme poverty, starvation and death.
Most countries have invented the use of filters that filter out harmful substances from the chimney of industries into less harmful substances though this isn't as efficient as it may seem.
The best way to prevent the loss of important places and possibly catastrophical disasters like the tsunami is to devise a way of recycling the carbondioxide that we put into the atmosphere.

It is definately happening, I have seen countless videos and examples that are backed up by tons of scientific evidence that shows you that it really is happning. It really is too far along to be stopped, becuase the population worldwide has been way too careless of their actions and their effects on the environment. People should really begin to realize the damage that they are doing and start to take action to slow this down.
