Broken Promise?

Recently Gov. Manchin made a proposal to turn the Promise Scholarship
into a loan if a student leaves the state of West Virginia after
graduation. this is a terrible idea by the governor. the state simply
doesn not have the job opportunities to try and force people to stay
in the state at the moment. people are forced to leave and find work
elsewhere to better their way of life. i personally plan on staying in
the state after i graduate. if this proposal was in place right now
and i planned on moving out of i state, i would turn the
scholarship/loan down. i wouldnt want that burden later on just
because i left west virginia. i just do not think that turning the
scholarship into a loan is a good idea.

Well, if you think about it this whole situation has both its good and bad spots. One of the ups to this is that it is helping to promote people to stay in west virginia, this would eventually end up to more jobs being created, but there lies the downside, we dont have enough openings for all of the people this would force to stay in the state and would put more people out of work. It is basically a matter of "pick your poison" because either way there is sometihng bad going to come from it.

When I first heard about the Promise Scholarship I worked my butt off to get it. But for people leaving the state of West Virginia, having to pay it back eventually does not sound that appealing. As of now my plans are to stay in state after I graduate and become a nurse somewhere(nurses are basically needed everywhere). But if I were to go out of state, I agree when you say you wouldn't want the burden of having it later down the road.
