I love how on our televsions these days the only thing that is on is
how Heath Leadger died and how Lynn Spears is giving her baby to her
mother and how Lindsay Lohan is in rehab again.... but did you ever
think that there is more to our world than that... that there is more
going on in our lives. What about the genocide in Darfur that is
happeneing? Did you even know about it? or that it only takes three
dollars to save someones life there? Instead of watching the people
that the youngsters of the USA look up to, the so called "celebs"
throw their life away.... why don't we start wondering about the
people that are having their lives taken from them? Why don't we stop
throwing our money away on alcohol and drugs and try to help people
that have nothing?

AGREED! That is really messed up! I'm glad you brought that to everyone's attention. I never really watch, or even glance, at channels with that content. If the television is on, it's probably programmed on PBS. And instead of T.V. all together, reading a book is a much better option. I guess my point is they only show the content that gets the ratings, so if everyone stops watching and supporting those channels, they will be forced to change to keep ratings up-thanks to our consumer driven economy. So everyone stand up against it!
I agree that we should start caring about all these issues but the truth is nobody wants to hear about it. People want to have something interesting to talk about. With Lynn Spears being pregnant, yeah she's throwing her life away but everyone enjoys talking crap about her and how pathetic she is. These days people are just selfish, they want to enjoy their own lives and not have to spend their own money on other people, just for their own enjoyment. It's a sad fact but it's the truth.
I hate how TV is like this now. My parents used to love watching the news, and now they hate it because they really dont learn anything going on in the world thats important. Celebrities have so much money and even when they are in rough situations they can usually pay their way out of them, like Paris being in jail for a really short amount of time. a normal person would have been in for years. It seems to me that our world is a giant high school, we love hearing the gossip and the drama, but thats exactly why i hated high school.
i agree. I think we should start paying attention to those in need. But the reality is no one really does care. All they want to know about is what celebrities did this or who did that. All the interesting things are what matter to people these days.
